Comment: In the second clause with kar 'make/buld' predicate, instrumental argument is omittted (because it is topical and was introduced in the preceeding clause) but the instrumental postposition ani is retained which rather typical for Ainu. This indicative of a vey early stage of grammaticalization of ani <INST> from the verb ani ‘hold sth (SG)’ (vt).
