Unknown verb
Verb meaning: SCREAM [scream]
Comment: There is no exact Mandarin counterpart of English scream. The closest translation jianjiao is a compound, where jian is an adjective meaning ‘sharp’. Therefore, jianjiao really means ‘cry sharply’. This characteristic of compounds restricts its application to relevant alternations, especially resultative alternations, which prohibits the verb's taking any manner adverbial.
