Simplex verb
Verb meaning: HUG [hug]
Comment: yōngbào is used mainly as a transitive verb. Literally it means 'hug by holding out arms' where yōng seems redundant as an expression of manner of hugging. Sometimes an adverb hùxiāng or xiānghù (both meaning 'mutually') is used to modify yōngbào.
