Complex verb
Verb meaning: CUT [cut]
Comment: Complex Verb. Lit. 'cut + HIT'. Alternative with inflecting verb meaning 'make an impact with an edge' also exists. Although the uninflecting coverb gad is phonologically identical to English 'cut' it is most likely an inherited lexical item (if it were a Kriol borrowing it would take the transitive suffix -im).
