Mandinka has several possible equivalents of 'hit' or 'beat'. Búsa has been selected as expressing 'hit' or 'beat' without any additional shade of meaning or restriction on the nature of the participants. Iterativity can optionally be specified by using the reduplicated form búsámbúsaŋ.
