jiāo (教)

jiāo is used mainly as a transitive verb just as teach is, but it can also be used ditransitively. When used in BA and BEI constructions, using a complement or PP is usually necesary to indicate the result of teaching or direction of transferring knowledge or skills. jiāo can hold various types of relationships with its object.
