ʾaḥḍara (أحضر)

show comment

A stem IV verb
(Stem I of the same root has the meaning 'to come, to attend'.)

In addition to the verb
ʾaḥḍara, the meaning BRING can be productively derived from motion-verbs of the stem I by the preposition bi- 'with', e.g. ǧāʾa 'come' > ǧāʾa bi- ‘bring/come with’, ḏahaba 'go' > ḏahaba bi- ‘bring/go with’, see §5.1.1.
